The Sigma 17-40mm F1.8 is a fast zoom lens that produces image quality comparable to prime lenses for Fuji's APS-C sensor bodies such as the Fujifilm X-T5. The maximum aperture is F1.8 throughout the entire focal length range.

Sigma previously had a very popular 18-35mm F1.8 lens for mirrorless bodies, and this is designed to be its mirrorless successor. The weight has dropped by 30% compared to the mirrorless lens, and the focal length is now slightly wider and more reachable.

17-40mm is a very versatile focal length, it can handle both landscape and portrait photography. The needs of videographers have also been taken into account when designing the lens. The autofocus is quiet and accurate. Focus breathing, i.e. the slightly disturbing change in the focal length of the image when focusing, has been minimized. It is well suited for use with a gimbal because zooming and focusing are handled internally, i.e. the size of the lens does not change.

The light output allows for great depth of field control and shooting in low light is no problem. If you only want to carry one lens with you, this is a great option!
