The Sigma 12mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary is a fast wide-angle lens designed for Sony APS-C format cameras. The cine equivalent focal length is 18mm. In terms of focal length, this is great for videography, landscape photography, and thanks to its scope, it is also possible to photograph architecture indoors.

The aperture is very good at F1.4 but the size is still very handy and the weight is only 235g, so this is also suitable for use with a gimbal stabilizer.

Many efforts have been made to improve video recording, minimizing the phenomenon of focus breathing, i.e. the slightly disturbing change in the focal length of the image when focusing. The autofocus is quick and the transition is smooth thanks to the stepping motor and internal focusing element.

The lens coating reduces internal reflections and high-quality lens elements produce sharp images. The fast and quiet focus motor is also suitable for video shooting.

The lenses are not completely weatherproof, but there is a rubber seal around the mount.
