This updated version has 51 gigabytes of internal memory compared to the previous 19Gb. The sensor and number of megapixels, i.e. image quality and features, are otherwise the same!
The Ricoh Theta Z1 51Gb is a consumer-oriented 360 camera with a large 1-inch image sensor and adjustable aperture. The camera's optics are also designed to make the most of the sensor size. Although the lens captures a very wide area of the image and often directly at the light source, the lens has been able to minimize reflections.
Ricoh Theta Z1 works great with services like Kuula and Matterport, so sharing and using images is easy!
A compact 360 camera is an excellent tool for a travel camera to record experiences from a slightly different perspective than a traditional camera. In addition, the Ricoh Theta is widely used in various businesses around the world; 360 technology brings added value to, for example, travel agencies and real estate agents, as the property can be presented to the client in detail using a moving video. For architects and builders, 360 video gives the opportunity to monitor the progress of work even in difficult conditions.

The Theta Z1 does indeed contain a 1-inch image sensor, which is about 4x larger than its predecessor, the Ricoh Theta V. The larger image sensor enables higher-quality videos and still images, with better sharpness and dynamics. The larger sensor also offers better sensitivity tolerance and enables shooting in even the most difficult conditions, when compared to other 360 cameras. The Ricoh Theta Z1 has a maximum sensitivity of ISO 6400, which means that images can be taken even in low light.
The Theta Z1 includes a lot of new features. HDR wide-tone images can be created directly in the camera, which is useful because in 360 photos the brightness differences in different parts of the image can be very large. The Interval Composite setting captures multiple images of, for example, the night sky and combines them into one file with less noise and allows you to capture the stars in the images. The camera can be programmed to take multiple images in succession with different settings, for example, different exposure values.
For video recording, the camera has 4-channel audio recording, so sounds are also recorded from a 360-degree area and help you feel the action when watching the video. Video images are recorded in 4K quality and the image quality is improved by the camera's 3-axis image stabilization.
The device works fully automatically, meaning that at the touch of a button, the camera takes two images and instantly stitches them together into a seamless 360-degree image. For those who want to immerse themselves more in the photography, the Z1 has manual controls, which include full manual, Aperture-priority (Av), Shutter-priority (Tv), ISO sensitivity (ISO). adjustable aperture. RAW images can be edited with Adobe Lightroom, with the help of the free 'RICOH THETA Stitcher' plugin that can be installed.
Main features
Like the Theta V, the Z1 is a 360° camera model that runs on the Android operating system. With the Android operating system, users can install apps on the camera to add new features. Currently available plugins include Remote Playback, which allows you to view images and videos wirelessly using compatible devices, and a Time-Shift plug-in, which allows you to take a picture so that the photographer disappears from the image.
Videos and photos recorded by Ricoh can be shared on YouTube or Facebook. The files are uploaded to the services as true 360 videos, meaning you can move your gaze by using the mouse or moving the device.
