The Panasonic AW-UB50 is the same camera as the Panasonic BS1H in terms of image quality and external dimensions. The camera is compatible with new connectivity standards, meaning it is better suited to current productions, includes NDI HX2, RMTPS and in the future SRT support, and the camera is compatible with Panasonic's PTZ system.
The Panasonic AW-UB50 is a box style device, meaning it does not have a display. You can connect an external display or recording device to the HDMI or SDI connection.
The device is almost exactly the same size as the AW-UB10 based on the GH5S camera, meaning a full-sensor camera with efficient cooling has been packed into a very small package.
The Panasonic AW-UB50 is suitable for streaming, production use, also as a fixed installation, and multi-camera production. In this use, it is only useful if everything superfluous is trimmed away. Power is also supplied directly via the Ethernet connection, which allows for versatile installations.
A battery or charger is not included, but the camera is compatible with Panasonic's common VBR batteries.
The most important thing is that the video quality is very much the same as the Panasonic S1H camera, which is top-notch.
