This is otherwise exactly the same as the MT055CXPRO4 , but this MT055CXPRO3 is 7cm longer in transport length. We recommend this version if the longer transport length does not bother you, as the three leg sections make the tripod much more stable and vibrations and small micro movements are absorbed more quickly.

Who this tripod is for: This is for you if you are looking for a very sturdy tripod for long exposures, astrophotography, or long focal lengths. The 90-degree rotating center tube is great for macro photography, food/product photography, and any situation where you want to shoot vertically downwards.

Feet

The Manfrotto 055 PRO3 tripod's legs consist of three parts and two very strong lever locks, which Manfrotto calls (QPL) Quick Power Lock. The lock levers are quite large, so they are easy to grip even with gloves on.

The tripod legs fold into four different angles (25°,46°,66°,88°), which allows the tripod to be used even on the most uneven terrain. The tripod angle lock is a spring-loaded slide lock on the side of the leg, which can be pulled down to unlock and allow the leg angle to be adjusted.

None of the three legs of the stand have a plastic/rubber coating that would make handling the stand comfortable in low temperatures. On the other hand, carbon fiber is a material that does not get as cold as aluminum.

Center pipe

The center tube is about 35cm long and its locking mechanism is a wing nut. Like the Manfrotto Pro camera tripods, this one has a 90-degree transverse center tube, which is great for straight-down shooting. This way you can get really close to the ground, as the lowest working height is only 9cm.

There is no hook at the bottom of the center tube to attach, for example, a backpack to support the stand.

Easy Link accessory connection

The MT055CXPRO3 tripod has an Easy Link accessory connection with a 3/8-inch thread on the central bridge. With the help of an accessory arm (e.g. Manfrotto 244 Micro or Manfrotto 234 Flex Arm) that can be purchased separately, you can connect, for example, an LED light or a shooting monitor, etc. to the tripod.

Ball head

This tripod does not come with a ball head. The tripod has a standard 3/8" male thread at the end, so you can attach almost any camera head to it.
