The new Premium Teleplus HD Pro 2.0X DGX teleconverter extends the focal length of the lens by a factor of 2x. For example, a 600mm focal length is converted to 1200mm and the aperture is reduced by two stops (e.g. f/2.8 becomes f5.6).
As the focal length increases, the closest focusing distance remains almost the same, so the magnification ratio increases slightly at close focus. Autofocus and stabilization work normally with the teleconverter.
The Kenko HD pro is a premium series telephoto extender specifically designed for use with high resolution DSLR cameras and lenses. The optical structure has been redesigned by introducing additional optical elements and incorporating an improved multi-layer anti-reflection coating to maintain the original performance of high resolution cameras and lenses.
A built-in microprocessor enables precise data transfer between the lens and camera, and focal length and aperture values are recorded in EXIF data and converted to actual shooting values when the teleconverter is attached.
NOTE! The teleconverter can make it difficult for the camera to autofocus if the light intensity decreases too much.
The Kenko Teleplus HD Pro 2.0X DGX also works with Sigma and Tokina lenses, but Kenko does not promise 100% compatibility with all features.
You can check the compatibility of the teleconverter with your camera and lens at this link.
