Irix Edge Black Mist 1/8 SR Diffusion Filter
This filter softens highlights to a dreamy effect. The effect is subdued at 1/4 1/8 strength, making it suitable for a variety of uses.
The filter is particularly suitable for video productions. The contrast is smoothed and the highlights are softened, giving the image a cinematic feel. Especially when shooting against backlight, it gives the soft feel of a vintage lens, but retains an undistorted image and some of the sharpness.
The scratch-resistant coating is also water and dust-repellent, so keeping the filter clean is really easy, just wipe it with a soft lens cloth. The texture on the frame makes it easy to put the filter in place. The slim design reduces vignetting even with wide-angle and telephoto lenses.
