Sony FX30 Digital Cinema Camera
Sony's new FX30 Cinema camera is designed for active videographers who want professional quality in a lighter package. The FX30 is perfect as a main camera for any production, as well as a B-camera for larger productions.
New Firmware released:
- Support for anamorphic lenses, de-squeeze directly in camera
- Cinema 4K resolution and true 24P frame rate
- Creators Cloud compatibility
The Sony FX30 gives all advanced photographers a camera with all the essential elements for filmmaking and producing high-quality content, as well as impressive photos.
- APS-C Super 35 cell size Cinema Line camera
- Descendant of the VENICE Cinema camera in a small body weighing about 700g
- True cinema camera: S-Cinetone/S-Log3/HLG, 14+ aperture dynamics
- Internal image stabilization, 5-axis
- 4K 120P recording
- S-Log3 recording and S-Cinetone picture profile
- 16bit Raw to external recorder
- Familiar and functional Touch Tracking and EyeAF focusing features
- Tally light on the front and back of the camera indicates whether video recording is on
- Powerful cooling system with fan - uninterrupted 4K 60P recording
- Timecode synchronization function, compatible with larger productions
The goal has been to make a full-fledged video and film camera in a smaller size and price range. The camera body and control layout are the same as Sony's full-frame FX3, but this APS-C sensor FX30 is a significantly more affordable option.
The camera has the quality of the larger Cinema Line cameras in a smaller, user-friendly size. The small body and smaller APS-C lenses mean lighter gear to carry.
The camera's active cooling is powered by a fan, which is designed so that it does not affect the weather protection of the body. In situations where noise levels are critical, the fan can be turned off completely, turned off during recording, or set to the lowest possible volume.
The FX30's LCD screen can also be flipped from the side to the front. The camera's controls are fine-tuned for video use, with a joystick and large rec button above the camera.
The rear dial is marked with shutter speed, focus peaking and zebra adjustments as standard.
The HDMI port is naturally full-size. The memory card system is the familiar 2 CFEXpress + 2kph SDXC UHS-II combination slots.
