The most striking feature of the new updated BDII range is the wide field of view, which in this 10x32 binocular is 6.7° or 117 meters at 1000 meters. The wide field of view combined with the reasonable 10x magnification makes the binoculars comfortable to view for longer periods of time.

The BDII series binoculars are robust in construction. The magnesium alloy body is weatherproof, so you can carry the binoculars with you in all situations without worry. The binoculars utilize XD lenses, which improve contrast and sharpness, bringing out details better. 2 XD lenses are installed in the objective head of each binocular. XD lens elements reduce chromatic aberration (chromatic aberration) and provide excellent resolution across the entire image area.

The nitrogen-filled Kowa BD II series binoculars are lined with a rubber protective coating that helps protect the optics and allows for a firmer grip, even when the surface of the binoculars is slightly wet.

Focusing is done via a relatively large and roughened focus wheel in the middle of the binoculars, which is very easy to handle. The focus ring has a nice, solid feel. The closest focus distance is a very short 1.3 meters. It takes about one and a half turns to focus from the closest focus distance to infinity.

The fact that the closest focusing distance is only 1.3m makes it possible to use the binoculars to view objects at close range, such as insects or plants.
