The FujiFilm GFX 50S II is Fuji's latest medium format system camera. The image sensor size is 44x33mm, which is 70% larger than a full-frame film sensor. The sensor in this camera is the same as the 50R camera, which is a very fine 51 megapixel CMOS. The biggest change in the camera is the internal image stabilization that moves the sensor and is effective at 6.5 stops!

The body is the same as the top-of-the-line GFX100S, so if the 50R resembled a large rangefinder camera, this one has the shape of a more traditional system camera. The controls have also changed, meaning instead of separate shutter speed controls, there is now a dial for exposure programs and the values are adjusted using a dial.

Because the sensor is physically larger than the film size at 43.8x32.9mm , each pixel covers a larger area and thus collects more light. The sensor's maximum sensitivity range is very wide, ISO 50-102400. Thanks to the powerful processor, continuous shooting is possible at a speed of three frames per second.

The Fuji GFX 50S's image stabilization helps when shooting handheld, and you get the most out of 50 million pixels and Fujinon lenses, but this stabilization also enables the Pixel Shift Multi-shot feature. In this case , the camera takes up to 16 RAW images and moves the image sensor 0.5 pixels at a time between images. These images are assembled into a very high-resolution 200-megapixel file. Each image also stores only one primary color, red, green or blue, so in addition to the resolution, the color information is more accurate. The function can also be used to save 50-megapixel images, making the files easier to handle.

Contrast-detect autofocus has 425 focus points . Focus points can be selected using the thumb joystick or by pressing directly on the touchscreen. The camera also features Fuji's excellent eye detection technology, the focus system automatically detects the face and eyes of the subject being photographed, and focuses on them. The autofocus processor is borrowed from the X-T4 model, but the GFX 50S II does not include phase detection.

The camera has two SD USH-II memory card slots for unique situations, so you can back up your files while you're shooting.
