The new DJI Mic 2 improves on its popular predecessor with better sound quality, new intelligent noise cancellation, and 32-bit recording. It comes with two wireless microphones that transmit audio up to 250m away to a receiver that can be attached to a camera, smart device, or computer.
The transmitters' microphones are omnidirectional, meaning you can use them to record background sounds or conversations between multiple people, such as interviews. They can be attached directly to the performers using either a clip or a magnet. The transmitter can be connected to Osmo Action 4 and Pocket 3 cameras or to a smartphone via Bluetooth without a receiver.
A new noise reduction feature reduces unwanted background noise and noise from your audio. The wide dynamic range of 32-bit recording provides even better sound quality, and audio levels can be adjusted afterwards without affecting sound quality, even if they are initially too quiet or loud.
Adjustments are made using the receiver's touchscreen and adjustment wheel. The receiver's internal memory is enough for 14 hours of audio and the battery lasts for about 6 hours of use or up to 18 hours with the charging case. DJI Mic 2 also records a safety track in the background at a -6dB setting if you wish, so sudden loud noises don't spoil the final result.
