The Canon EOS R50 V is based on the easy-to-use and small EOS R50 system camera. This EOS R50 V adds new autofocus and highly advanced video shooting features to the recipe for success!
It includes Canon Log 3 wide tonal range shooting, a False Colour exposure assistant tool for the first time in devices in this price range, customizable colour profiles, a solid metal body with multiple tripod threads and better thermal management, meaning even long shooting sessions can be reliably achieved.
Don't worry if terms like Log 3 don't tell you anything yet, this camera is easy to use right from the start but offers plenty of possibilities as you gain experience and want to control the footage more closely!
The sensor in this camera is APS-C sized, which means that all Canon RF compatible lenses will work with this camera, and the adapter also supports all old Canon EF lenses, so there are options.
Controlling the camera and easily transferring and streaming images is done reliably and easily with Canon's mobile apps
The Canon EOS R50V features easy-to-use features tailored to specific shooting situations. In addition to panorama and macro stacking, the camera also features Creative Assist, which suggests the right settings.
The Canon EOS R50 V has the same fast continuous shooting as the Canon EOS R50, i.e. 12 frames per second with a mechanical shutter.
Canon EOS R50 V, i.e. video first
A breathtaking listing, the Canon EOS R50 V is a surprisingly capable video device and competes directly with video models from other manufacturers!
The camera's 4K video is created from 6K data across the entire sensor area. This so-called oversampling technique is familiar from more expensive models and produces a more detailed and less noisy video image.
The Canon EOS R50 V does not limit video footage to 30 minutes, and the camera can record videos of up to 2 hours continuously and reliably, making it also suitable for recording events.
The Canon EOS R50 V includes a very handy False Color exposure aid, which is mostly familiar from film cameras. This allows you to quickly and accurately expose a video image. The image is converted to black and white and areas with different brightness are made visible in six different colors. So when you want to get a good exposure of a face, for example: adjust the sensitivity, aperture or lighting so that the area of the face is gray or green in the appropriate proportion and you're done!
This also helps to place highlights and shadows in the right place. Using this feature often means less editing and the video files are the best possible straight from the camera.
The camera battery can be charged with the included charger or directly from a power bank using the USB-C connection.
