The Zeiss Conquest Apia 20-50x65 is an ultra-compact telescope for the mobile nature enthusiast. Weighing only 1.35 kg, the new product offers HD optics and an Arca-Swiss mount.

Zeiss new telescope of 2026!
The Zeiss Conquest Apia 20-50x65 is a new generation of ultra-compact binoculars, developed specifically for the on-the-go nature enthusiast and demanding hiker. When a large 85mm binocular feels too heavy for longer hikes, the Apia 65 steps in. It offers a lightweight package without sacrificing Zeiss' renowned optical performance or image quality.
The telescope is equipped with a versatile 20–50x zoom eyepiece. Whether you're raking open fells, archipelago islets, or birding wetlands, Apia fits into even a small daypack and is always ready to bring the most distant details right before your eyes.
The Zeiss Conquest Apia is designed for situations where the weight of the equipment needs to be minimized. At only about 30 centimeters long and weighing 1.35 kilograms, the Apia is a true travel telescope that won't strain your back even on long journeys.
Despite the smaller 65mm front lens, its 87% light transmission and advanced Zeiss HD optics ensure an exceptionally bright image. The 20-50x magnification is an excellent balance: 20x magnification provides a wide field of view (48 m / 1000 m) for sweeping large areas, and 50x zoom allows you to identify species and details with precision.
Like Zeiss' flagship models, the Apia 65 telescope also utilizes ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass, aspherical lenses, and the FieldFlattener technology found in larger telescopes and binoculars.
This combination ensures a high-contrast image and keeps the image sharp right to the edges without disturbing chromatic aberrations. The lenses feature Zeiss' renowned T* multi-layer coating and the water and dirt-repellent LotuTec coating.
The durable magnesium-aluminum body is rubber-coated, nitrogen-filled and completely waterproof (200 mbar), so it is not afraid of heavy rain or extreme temperature fluctuations.
The Apia 65 brings with it excellent ergonomic insights. The included detachable "Throw Lever" allows for quick zoom operation even with your thumb, allowing you to keep your hand on the focus ring at all times. This reduces unnecessary movement and keeps the image stable.
Another highly desired feature is the Arca-Swiss rail integrated directly into the telescope's base. This means you don't need separate quick-release plates, but the tube slides securely straight into most quality tripod heads.
In addition, the tube has a close focus of only 3.5 meters, which also makes it a great tool for detailed viewing of small objects such as butterflies or dragonflies.
