The Sigma Sony E mount 14mm f/1.8 A DG HSM is mechanically and image quality identical to the Canon EF version with Sigma's MC-11 adapter. However, now there is no need for an adapter, as the lens fits directly into Sony's E mount (Sony A7, A9, A6500 etc.). Focus adjustments can be optimized for the lens in question. Sony-E compatible Sigmas can also be updated via a computer, so new features and focus updates are possible.

The world's first and only ultra-wide-angle lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.8. The lens's maximum aperture allows for significantly lower sensitivities for stargazing or photographing the northern lights, and for that alone, better image quality and dynamics. In addition to night sky photographers, the Sigma 14mm Art is great for anyone looking for a truly wide-angle lens with excellent maximum aperture.

The weather-sealed Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art features three 'F' Low Dispersion (FLD) and four Super Low Dispersion (SLD) lens elements. The optics are built with 16 lens elements in 11 groups. The weather-sealing keeps dust and water droplets on the 'right' side of the lens's metal body.

The Sigma 14mm f1.8 lens has a minimum focusing distance of just 27cm. The high aperture is useful when you want to emphasize the foreground subject and blur the background.
