The Kaiser 6506 Slide Duplicator is a simple device that allows you to copy slides into digital format at a very affordable price.

The Kaiser slide scanner is attached directly to the lens filter thread. The compatible filter thread is 52mm or 58mm. The most suitable focal length for a 35mm slide is approximately 110mm (80mm-120mm) film equivalent, with shorter focal lengths the image will have to be cropped afterwards.

• Take advantage of magnified liveview and manual focus

The best results are achieved when a uniformly colored and brightly lit surface is used as the light source. For example, a white wall, or even a softbox. Manual focus is probably the most useful when operating with this device and the optics should be dimmed from full aperture all the way down to f/11. Suitable apertures are f/5-f/11, depending on the lens.
