The GoPro Max's incredibly powerful image stabilization is based on 360 technology. Because the entire view is recorded, it can detect the camera's position to provide very effective stabilization, eliminating the need for gimbals and flicking your feet as this smooths everything out. At the same time, image quality improves by minimizing shake.

Additionally, the Horizon Lock function allows you to stabilize the image horizontally, meaning that the image will always be in the correct orientation even when the camera is turned around. This means that when using the shooting arm, it doesn't matter which position the pole is in and the image will always be straight. This works great when filming downhill skiing, as you don't have to worry about the position of the handle.
