The Canon EF 11-24mm F4L is the world's widest-angle, distortion-corrected zoom lens. A sharp, full-frame ultra-wide angle, with zoom that brings versatility for a variety of uses.

The Canon EF 11-24mm f/4 L is the world's widest distortion-corrected zoom lens. The diagonal angle of view is a whopping 126 degrees, a lens with the same wide angle on an APS-C sensor should have a focal length of about 6.8MM, which is shorter than most fisheye lenses. But this 11-24mm keeps the lines straight and works on full-frame cameras!
The optical structure consists of 16 lens elements in 11 groups. UD and Super UD lenses are used to eliminate distortion and four aspherical lenses. By using special lenses, image quality is sharp throughout the entire focal length range. The Canon EF 11-24mm is therefore on the list of recommended lenses for the Canon EOS 5DS system body . The lens's resolution is therefore sufficient for a camera with a top resolution of up to 50.6 megapixels. Thanks to its sharpness and corrected geometry, the lens is suitable for demanding architectural photography and landscape photographers.
The lens surfaces use three different advanced coatings, two elements have SWC coating and one has ASC (Air Sphere Coating). Because of these coatings, the lens also performs well when shooting against backlight, with high contrast images without excessive reflections. This is important because when using an ultra-wide angle lens, the sun or other bright light sources are often present in the image field.
The Canon EF 11-24mm f/4L features a ring-type USM focusing motor. The focusing motor is fast and quiet. Fine-tuning the focus is always possible with the available focus ring, so there is no need to switch the lens to manual focus. Traditional screw-on filters cannot be used with the ultra-wide-angle lens, but there is a holder for gelatin filters on the back of the lens. There are also large filter holders on the market that can be attached to the lens, such as the Nisi Filter Holder 180, which allows you to use sliding ND filters in landscape photography.
The Canon 11-24mm is dust and weather protected to the same standard as Canon L-series lenses, and there is also a rubber cap around the bayonet to protect the connection point.
