The Tamron 35-150mm with a similar focal length has been released previously for SLR cameras, but this lens has a new optical structure and the maximum aperture is one aperture higher, i.e. a whopping F2-F2.8! The lens works with APS-C sensor size and full-frame cameras.
Tamron advertises this in their own materials as a superzoom for travel use, but we at Kameralieikke dismiss this idea as a marketing gimmick. This is a great single-lens solution for, for example, portrait photography, event photography and sports photography in a milieu, especially indoors when you need a slightly wider head so it doesn't get too cramped and the maximum aperture is most useful!
The zoom, which starts at a wider 35mm focal length, is very handy in many situations, this lens is great for photographing people and in the blink of an eye you can get a detailed portrait or a slightly wider overview. On the edge of a sports field or in tighter indoor conditions, you can now do just fine with one bright and fast-focusing lens.
We think the lens works especially well paired with the Tamron 17-28mm F2.8 lens .
Both lenses are fast zooms, but in terms of size and weight, the combination is equivalent to a traditional telephoto zoom.
The lens is weather and dust protected with rubber seals, and the front lens contains a fluorite coating that prevents dirt and makes cleaning easier.
