Sony's new G Master series wide-angle zoom has managed to combine many things into one. An extremely wide 12mm focal length, a fixed F2.8 aperture, and a weight of only 847 grams.
This Sony FE 12-24mm is great for basic wide-angle photography, such as architecture and landscape photography. Thanks to its light output, it's great for capturing the night sky and stars.
Thanks to its fast autofocus ( 4x XD Linear Motors ), the Sony FE is suitable for any creative shooting where professional-level image quality and speed are important. The surprisingly light lens also balances nicely with a gimbal for video use. Sony also promises that focus breath is eliminated and focus remains accurate when zooming.

The Sony 12-24mm F2.8 features a modern design that uses a lot of special lenses. Complex special elements keep color shift under control even with such a wide and bright lens. The lens uses a new Nano AR Coating II coating on the outer curved lens, this is a particularly important innovation to keep reflections away even when shooting against backlight.
Due to the highly curved front lens, the lens does not have a filter thread, but there is a slot for gelatin filters on the back of the lens, and a cutting template is included for cutting the filter material to the correct size.
The Sony FE 12-24mm is weather and dust-resistant. It also features a fluorine coating that repels dirt and makes cleaning easier.
