The first Sigma lens specifically designed for full-frame mirrorless cameras. Sigma has previously released a Sony FE compatible version of the previous Sigma 35mm F1.4 lens. But this 1.2 aperture version is a completely new design and now takes full advantage of the mirrorless capabilities . Sigma's first super-fast F1.2 lens and the only autofocus F1.2 lens for Sony cameras.
Sigma 35mm F1.2 is part of the manufacturer's Art series, meaning the lens has been designed to provide the best possible image quality. The lens is also suitable for high-resolution bodies such as the Sony a7R IV. The lens produces sharp results right at full aperture, even at the edges of the image field. Sigma 35mm is suitable for demanding landscape photography and you can take control of the night. With this lens and Sony's powerful body stabilizer, you can get images in unprecedentedly demanding conditions.
In addition to the image quality, the usability is also professional, the lens has an aperture ring for adjusting the aperture. You can choose to click in 1/3 stop increments and for video use this can be made silent with a switch. On the side of the lens is the Focus Hold button familiar from Sony's G Master series lenses, which can be used to stop the focus or activate, for example, Sony's EyeAF focus.
Manual focusing is particularly precise thanks to the large focus ring, the turning radius from the closest distance to infinity is 540 degrees, meaning you can get the focus just right, and Sony's focus aids such as Focus Peaking also help. The focus ring is also suitably damped and its feel resembles that of premium manual focus lenses.
The Sigma 35mm F1.2 is weather and dust sealed . There is a sealing ring around the bayonet and the outer lens element of the lens is coated with a dirt and dust repellent coating.
