The Ricoh Theta SC2 continues the familiar Ricoh Theta design language. The SC-2 is stick-shaped, with two fast (f/2) fisheye lenses at one end. In addition, there are a few buttons, informative lights and an OLED screen that displays information related to the shooting. The stick-shaped shape means that the hand holding the camera is also visible in the image - a 360-degree image records everything that is visible around the camera.

One of the new buttons is a 'self-timer' button, which together with the OLED screen makes it easier to use the camera without a smartphone. However, if you want to adjust more camera settings, the Ricoh Theta SC-2 requires a smartphone or tablet to pair , which are connected together via WiFi . The smart device's screen can then be used to adjust the camera settings (including exposure, white balance, shutter speed, sensitivity). The camera's video image will also be displayed live on the phone's screen, so you can check the preview image.

Shooting itself is made really easy. Just select whether you want to shoot video or still images with the button on the side of the Theta SC and press the other button to start recording video or snap a photo.
