The OM System 50-200mm F2.8 is a fast telephoto lens suitable for professional photography. It offers top-class image quality optics and a weather-resistant construction that can withstand heavy use. Combined with the effective image stabilization and body stabilization of OM System cameras, handheld photography is possible in all Finnish conditions.

The new lens is fully compatible with 1.4X and 2X teleconverters. On OM System cameras, this lens has a cine equivalent of 100-400mm, which means that the ratio of aperture to focal length is very good. With the 1.4X teleconverter, the lens is equivalent to 140-560mm F5.6, and with the MC-20, it has a 200-800mm F5.6 equivalent, which is also suitable for wildlife photography. And like the Om System, the weight of the whole set is amazing, with the pro body, lens and teleconverter it weighs just over 1800g.

In addition to distant objects, this also allows you to get close! The closest focusing distance is only 78cm, which means that in addition to bird photos, you can also capture details of landscapes and nature. The aforementioned telephoto extensions also help when shooting close-ups, i.e. with the 1.4X extension the magnification ratio is 0.5X and with the 2X extension it is 1:1, so we are already in macro readings!

The OM System 50-200mm uses several special lenses to improve image quality and reduce errors. The lens is weatherproof to IP53 standard , meaning it is protected against dust and splashes of water.

The autofocus is fast and there are limits on the side of the lens for the focus area if you are shooting objects at a certain distance and there are branches in front, for example.

The design and construction of the lens is very similar to the top-of-the-line OM System 150-400mm. The materials feel the same and the lens feels well protected. The zoom and focus are internal, meaning the size does not change during use. The Sync IS image stabilization works in conjunction with the body's internal stabilization to improve the sharpness of handheld images.

A tripod collar is included and switching to portrait mode is easy even in winter because the tripod collar adjustment nut is sturdy enough. The tripod collar is removable and is directly Arca-Swiss compatible.
