This is a special tool when you want a creamy soft bokeh effect! Laowa combines a 200mm telephoto lens, a huge F2 aperture, and the whole thing is still surprisingly handy, weighing 1.7kg and measuring about 17cm long.

Laowa has invested in the lens and promises the best performance from a manufacturer. There are several special elements included to minimize errors in the images. The goal is that at full F2 aperture the optics offer pinpoint sharpness where the focus is, and the background becomes a velvet cloak. According to the test images, this has been successful, especially in portraits, the effect is really nice when the conditions are right.

At full aperture, the image is a bit dreamy, meaning there isn't too much contrast, but by dimming it a bit, the image becomes very neutral and modern.

The Laowa 200mm F2 includes autofocus. Laowa even went so far as to offer this for sports photography in low light or when you want to play with depth of field. However, the depth of field is so shallow that objects coming perpendicular to the camera are difficult to focus on, but it is perfectly adequate for portrait photography. In addition, manual focusing is great, the adjustment ring is large and has a good feel.

A swivel tripod collar is included, which is directly Arca Swiss compatible. In addition to tripod use, this also works great as a carrying handle.
