A monocular with a thermal camera, meaning it can record still images and video.

FLIR Scout TKx is suitable for hikers, safaris, farmers, sailors, paintball athletes and as an auxiliary tool in the backpack of nature photographers, as the device detects heat sources from a distance, up to 90m away, despite darkness and fog. The frame rate is 9Hz , meaning the device updates the view 9 frames per second. The monocular is therefore more suitable for detecting stationary and slowly moving objects.

The rubberized body increases the impact resistance of the viewer and therefore improves the chances if the device is accidentally dropped or bumped. The manufacturer says that the device can withstand a drop of up to 1m. The rubberized shell also improves grip, which is an important feature in damp or wet weather and even with gloves.
