DJI has released a new affordable SE version of its phone stabilizer. Active Track has been updated to version 5.0 and is even more stable at recognizing human figures at longer distances.

There is a small display on the gimbal handle that shows the current mode. By pressing the M button, the gimbal switches between different shooting modes. The four shooting modes are:

Tilt Lock - the gimbal will follow the selected subject only by panning. This setting is suitable for situations where the subject is moving from left to right and vice versa on flat terrain.

In FPV mode, all three axes of the gimbal work while following a subject. Used for example when filming skateboarding, children playing, animals, or selfies when there is movement in all directions.

SpinShot - the gimbal can be motorized to the left or right using the joystick on the handle. This is used when the gimbal is used to pan forward or backward (i.e. the cameraman moves forward/backward while simultaneously steering the gimbal left/right). It also works when shooting from an overhead angle.

You can also control your phone with hand gestures and the DJI Osmo Mobile SE Gimbal will start following you. It's easy to turn phone footage into a professional-looking video with the stabilizer and the Mimo app, and you can instantly upload the results online.

A thin magnetic clamp is attached to the phone, which clamps itself to the edges of the phone. This then attaches the phone to the magnetic attachment point on the stabilizer arm, so the phone can also be quickly removed from the stabilizer.

Smart shooting features:

ActiveTrack 5.0 is an improved version of the familiar tracking feature. This update has improved human figure recognition.
