Dock-supported version. DJI Matrice 4D is a powerhouse for business use with updated sensors and artificial intelligence. The drone is especially suitable for mapping, modeling, surveying, construction and mining industries.

The DJI Matrice 4 series is a drone series designed for more rugged hobby and professional use. The series consists of four machines, of which the Matrice 4E and Matrice 4D are especially suitable for mapping and maintenance. The Matrice 4T and 4TD are suitable for work that uses a thermal camera. The D versions are IP55 weather rated.
The Matrice 4D model is weatherproof, IP55 rated and is a so-called dock-ready model, meaning the drone also works with the DJI Dock 3, the third-generation charging platform and control system.
The M4D is largely identical to the M4E drone. In addition to Dock 3 support, the differences include the following:
- Construction: The Matrice 4D drone is weatherproof, meaning it is IP rated (IP55) just like the Matrice 30T. It is also quieter and has Anti-Ice propellers.
- Foldable: 4D is a fixed-frame system, meaning the motor arms do not fold into a "bunch". Please note that the device does not have landing legs, but it can land on a flat surface. We recommend a landing pad with the 4D.
- Battery and charging: Slightly longer flight time and faster battery charging (240W charger)
- Accessories: Supports Obstacle Sensing Module
- Connection quality: Supports air-to-air communication, where one drone flies high and acts as a link drone/base station, improving the signal in more challenging flying environments.
The DJI Matrice 4D series drones use advanced artificial intelligence for flight control. The aircraft is able to identify different objects and track them independently. The drones are equipped with advanced obstacle and environment recognition based on laser technology.
There are many things and features to consider when choosing a drone. Like the Matrice 4E, the M4D is suitable for a variety of uses. The triple-camera system with laser rangefinder gives the Matrice 4D exceptional performance. The system consists of a 20-megapixel wide-angle camera, 48-megapixel medium-telephoto and standard-telephoto cameras, and a laser rangefinder.
The laser rangefinder, familiar from DJI's more robust drones, has now been brought to the Matrice 4/4D series. In good conditions, the measurement range is up to 1.6 kilometers and the rangefinder is an excellent tool for calculating distances between the drone and objects. Distant objects can be measured using the point measurement or line-like drawing tool.
The Matrice 4E allows you to perform 5-way oblique imaging, 3-way ortho imaging, and intelligent 3D imaging. The drone supports 0.5-second interval shooting and integrates with DJI Pilot 2 to automatically create mapping reports.
The DJI Matrice 4D's four intelligent flight modes are designed to make flying easier in all conditions.
Cruise mode makes flying longer distances easier. Like cruise control, it allows the drone to fly forward without the pilot having to make any steering movements on the controller.
In Fly To mode, the Matrice 4TD automatically determines a flight path and speed to seek a pre-determined destination.
In Smart Track mode, the drone can be configured to follow a target so that the drone takes care of precise tracking and automatic zooming. With artificial intelligence-assisted tracking, tracking of the target can be resumed even if it briefly disappears from view, e.g. into vegetation.
In POI mode, the user can select a point of interest around which the Matrice 4T will fly. The drone can optionally generate a 3D model of the object's surroundings while observing it.
The RTK module provides centimeter-accurate positioning information from your drone when needed, allowing you to operate safely in areas where GNSS signals are otherwise weak. The integrated RTK module supports the extended L5 frequency band, which works with GNSS and DJI's Vision Fusion positioning and navigation system.
DJI Enterprise series drones feature Local Data Mode, where collected data can be cleared with the press of a button. Data encryption during transmission is provided using AES-256 video transmission encryption and Cloud API.
The DJI RC Plus 2 Enterprise controller is equipped with a bright display that ensures clear visibility even in strong sunlight. The controller has an IP54 rating and operates in temperatures from -20 to 50 degrees Celsius. The controller operates with the new O4 transmission protocol. The controller now also has programmable keys. The controller supports SDR and 4G hybrid transmission.
DJI's new O4 transmission protocol enables the Matrice 4TD to fly over 15 kilometers. However, as a pilot and operator, please note the Finnish drone legislation regarding VLOS (visual line of sight) and BVLOS (beyond visual line of sight) flight rules.
