The ELC is Elinchrome's latest series with LED model light and a few design improvements that improve usability and durability compared to the older BRX series.

This set is suitable for passport photography, a home studio, or as a gig set for a mobile photographer.

The Elinchrom ELC 125 / 125 studio light set includes two 125W studio flashes. Compared to the BRX series lights, the design has paid attention to usability and durability.

Examples of these include the redesigned top handle , which makes it easier to move and handle the flash. The power cord is placed at the bottom of the flash unit , which means that if you accidentally step on the cord, the flash will not fall over, but the power cord will come off. The light can now also be placed on its back when you want to use the light as a backlight or fill light on the floor or table. One small but easy-to-use feature is the Elinchrom logo on the side of the flash, which also serves as a handy indicator. The logo is always a different color depending on which group the light is placed in. Like modern lights, the model light is an LED light , which is balanced to a 5700K color temperature and has a CRI of 92.

In terms of other features, the most notable changes are the addition of HSS and TTL modes. While the HSS provided by the flash may not always be necessary in the studio, HSS is helpful when you want to freeze the motion of fast-moving subjects, such as dancers or objects flying through the air.

These days, many photographers also shoot video in between stills. The ELC125 light was not designed with video in mind, but the LED model light allows these lights to be utilized in small-scale video shoots. It should be noted that the light's fan cannot be turned off.

The Elinchrom ELC flash has a built-in 2.4G radio, which allows remote control of the flash and the use of other Elinchrom lights in the same flash set. This means you can combine Elinchrom battery devices (ONE and FIVE) and even older Elinchrom devices.

In addition to the separately purchased trigger, the studio flash settings are adjusted from the rear panel of the flash and are displayed on the easy-to-read LCD screen.

The flash is compatible with the universal Elinchrom skyport Speed and Elinchrom EL-Skyport Plus triggers as well as the camera-specific Elinchrom Skyport Plus HS trigger. If you want to use HSS, you need the latest Elinchrom Skyport Plus HS trigger

The device has an Elinchrom mount, meaning a wide range of light modifiers are available for the flash. The lights also have a mounting hole for an umbrella.

Elinchrom ELC 125 studio light

The ELC 125 is the smaller of the lights in this set, with a light output of 125Ws. Although the light output is not the highest, the light is perfect for portrait photography, passport photography, fill and background lighting, for example. Due to the high sensitivity of modern cameras, the ELC125 light is enough to illuminate even a surprisingly large space.
