This package includes the ultra-compact Sony E PZ 16-50mm F3.5-5.6 OSS II lens
Sony's ZV-E10 Mark II brings a whole new level of video quality to this price range. The camera uses the same sensor as the FX30 camcorder, meaning better image quality and 4K 60P video recording, faster autofocus, better battery life and a larger battery, and many other small improvements.
This camera is best suited for taking videography and social media production to the next level. It produces great quality video and its smart features help you succeed on the first take.
The Sony ZV-10 features the same Sony E lens mount and a similar image sensor as several other A-series system cameras.
Featuring the familiar image sensor from Sony's FX30 cameras and a new processor, the ZV-E10 II is a big leap forward over its predecessor. All key features, such as really good video quality in low light, sensor readout speed, and autofocus, have been significantly improved.
The Sony ZV-E10 Mark II creates 4K 30P video from the entire sensor area, combining 6K of data into a 4K file, resulting in a sharp image with less noise. In addition, 4K 60P shooting is possible with a very small 1.1x crop and 5.7K of data is used to create the image.
High-quality 60P video recording is the preferred image mode for many, as it allows you to record fast motion and create impressive slow-motion videos in really good quality. The previous ZV-E10 was not capable of 60P recording at this resolution.
The new sensor and Bionz XR processor also enable wider color recording in 10bit 4:2:2 format, which means more possibilities in editing when adjusting colors. In addition, the camera also records video in the S-Cinetone color space, which means that the material can be edited together with Sony's more powerful cameras if this ZV-E10 II is used as a B-camera in a larger production.
In addition, the camera has Creative look settings that work like presets for image tones, as well as support for LUT files familiar from production cameras, meaning that video can be saved and previewed immediately with the desired settings.
In addition, the camera has more focus points and Sony's cutting-edge real-time subject detection autofocus.
The Sony ZV-E10 II includes features that make content creation easier. For example, a shallow depth of field can be achieved by changing the aperture traditionally, but there is a dedicated Bokeh Mode button for shallow depth of field , which adjusts video settings so that the subject is highlighted while the background is blurred.
For those showcasing products on video, there's a dedicated Product Showcase focus mode . This mode is activated with a single button and then the camera quickly but smoothly switches focus between the person in the picture and the products being shown to the camera. This feature is perfect for product reviewers and showcasing things in front of the camera.
In addition, the ZV-E1 camera has the same high-quality triple-capsule internal microphone as the full-frame camera, meaning you can get high-quality sound even without an external microphone and the camera set remains very small. And naturally, the camera has a 3.5mm microphone jack and the camera is compatible with Sony's new microphones, which attach to the hot shoe without separate cables.
Sony's ZV-E10 II camera has a flip-type touchscreen that folds to the side and forward. You can conveniently compose and check the image. You can also select the subject to focus on directly from the screen. The Sony ZV-1 also includes a tally light familiar from camcorders, so you can easily see whether video recording is on.
Many initial reviews of the ZV-E10 II have been similar: a great camera but, and that but in this case is thermal management. The body is smaller and does not include a separate fan, which means that in the summer in the hot sun or when shooting an educational event, for example, the camera may limit recording time.
The camera does not have a simple timer, but the recording time depends on the prevailing conditions, meaning that in the Finnish climate it is more likely that the battery will run out before it warms up.
But with all the goodies on, the recording time for 4K filming can be between an hour and a half and a half. So for those shooting short videos this is not a problem, but for events, for example, we recommend the FX30 camera. The FX30 also includes two memory card slots, which provides additional security when recording important material.
For photography, we recommend the Sony A6700 model because the Sony ZV-E10 II does not include a mechanical shutter, the sensor read speed is good, but when shooting indoors in artificial light or fast subjects in nature, for example, errors may occur in the image. In addition, the A6700 includes weather protection and an electronic viewfinder, which are much appreciated by photographers.
If you don't need these, the ZV-E10 II is a smartly priced and versatile choice for all content creators and video enthusiasts, meaning it's great without those drawbacks!
