The Sigma Aizu Prime 27mm T1.3 is part of a completely new series of professional-level cinema lenses.

Aizu Prime lenses are not based on previous models made for photography, but have been designed and built from the ground up for demanding video production. This ensures a completely consistent image quality, color scheme, and image character across the entire series.

Image quality is also optimized for large format (46.3 mm drawing circle) sensors. It covers not only full-frame and Super 35 formats, but also the latest large-format cameras such as the ARRI ALEXA LF ??Open Gate and VistaVision.

Sigma describes the design of the series as a combination of modern sharpness and a natural soft (organic) look. Since the goal has been to make devices specifically suitable for film production from the very beginning, optical distortions and the disturbing focus breathing phenomenon in video shooting have been minimized right from the design table.

Thanks to the unified optical design, you can change focal lengths mid-shoot without changing the color scheme, contrast, or reflection properties of the image.

Consistent and professional usability

Usability is mechanically consistent across the entire Aizu Prime series. Each lens has the same 95mm front diameter, and mechanical details (such as wide-range focus and evenly spaced aperture ring) are positioned consistently.

This allows for quick lens changes on the fly without having to reposition follow focus motors. The lens' compact size and light weight also make it ideal for dolly, Steadicam, gimbal and handheld shooting.

The demands of modern post-production are met by support for the ZEISS eXtended Data system, which enables the transfer of precise lens data (such as distortion and vignetting correction information) in real time to the camera and VFX workflow.

The Aizu Prime series will initially consist of 8 focal lengths (25mm, 27mm, 32mm, 35mm, 40mm, 50mm, 65mm and 75mm), and will later be complemented by ultra-wide-angle and telephoto lenses (18mm, 21mm, 100mm and 125mm).
