Hannu Hautala exposes himself in images and text. He also tells us what it feels like when life - and perhaps humanity - is coming to an end.
This intimate and reflective work is a tribute to Hannu Hautala by two of the best in their field. Photographer Juha Metso and journalist Anna-Stina Nykänen search for the secret of the master's success.
Why did Hannu Hautala become a master of nature photography, even though no one encouraged him? How did he create an international career? How will his influence be seen and felt in future generations?
Metso makes Hannu Hautala's own nature photos dance on his skin. Nykänen follows the magical photo sessions in Kuusamo: listening, asking questions and getting under his skin. Hautala reminisces, reflects, cries, laughs and sometimes sings.
Time spent together and shared emotions produce new understanding. An unforgettable artistic experience and an inspiring reading experience are created that provide both joy and wisdom.
