The Boomerang name refers to the shoulder pad of the camera strap, which is curved like a boomerang. In the familiar BlackRapid style, this camera strap is also a quick-to-use and ergonomically designed “over the shoulder” camera strap for situations where special durability is required. The strap is intended to be worn on the left shoulder, allowing the camera to rest on the right side of the body, within easy reach of the right hand.

The camera is attached to the strap's steel mounting screw via its tripod thread (or the tripod thread of the lens collar), allowing the camera to hang freely on your hip and be quickly within reach. The camera's weight is distributed evenly between the opposite shoulders and hips, so there is no strain on your back.

The breathable shoulder pad is designed to allow moisture to pass through more effectively and keep it outside the strap, making it comfortable to wear even in warmer conditions. The material on the underside of the strap is 'sticky', which prevents the strap from slipping off the shoulder.
