The Zoom LiveTrak L-20 is a mixer, recorder, and sound card all in one. The mixer also has a built-in metronome.

20 inputs allow you to connect multiple microphones or instruments to the mixer. 16 of the inputs are Combo XLR mono inputs with phantom power, which allow you to connect both XLR and 1/4" cables. The mixer also has two 1/4" & RCA mic/line inputs. Channels 1-2 also offer Hi-Z connections for guitars and basses, among other things.

For monitoring the sound, each channel has its own 12-segment LED meter. There are six 1/4" TRS outputs for connecting headphones, which can also be used to connect an audio monitor. The mixes of each headphone output can be adjusted separately. The device has its own output for the hall mixer, from which it is possible to monitor both the main mix and the mixes of other monitors/headphones.

When the L-20 is used as a recorder, audio is recorded to an SD card (max. 512Gb). This allows you to record each channel and the master, i.e. a total of 22 tracks at 24-bit/96kHZ resolution. The recorder also allows for overdubbing, which allows you to, for example, add commentary over the music afterwards.

The Zoom L-20 also functions as a 22-in/4-out USB sound card when connected to a computer. A class compliant mode switch allows the device to work with iOS devices. All you need is a Lightning to USB adapter.

The L-20 also supports wireless control via a separate Bluetooth adapter (such as the Zoom BTA-1) and the free L-20 Control app for iOS devices. Wireless control allows you to control slides and effects, among other things. You can also view the effects library remotely, so you can plan your mix in advance.
