The wide 24mm focal length and f/14 aperture provide sufficient depth of field even when shooting very close up. The tube length is 40cm, so despite the very high 2x magnification ratio, you can get a long enough shooting distance even when shooting sensitive subjects. The tube is also waterproof, meaning you can put this lens in the water! So you can get pictures of marine life below the surface or in difficult conditions without any unnecessary precautions.

Laowa has placed a bright LED light on the end of the lens. With the light, you don't necessarily need separate lighting and you can get clear images even in dimly lit areas. Laowa is powered by the USB port on the side of the lens, so it can be conveniently powered by a small power bank.

The Laowa 24mm Probe is also compatible with full-frame Sony FE cameras. On a full-frame camera, an object approximately 18mm wide fills the entire frame, and on an APS-C camera, an object approximately 10mm wide fills the entire frame.
