Sigma's L-Mount 35mm 1.4 A DG HSM is mechanically and image quality identical to the Canon EF version with Sigma's MC-21 adapter. However, now there is no need for an adapter, as the lens fits directly into the L-Mount bayonet (Leica SL, Panasonic S1, etc.). Focus adjustments can be optimized for the lens in question. L-mount compatible Sigmas can also be updated via a computer, so new features and focus updates are possible.

The Sigma 35mm f1.4 supports Panasonic's advanced focusing methods such as EyeAF, where the camera focuses continuously on the subject's eye. The lens also has a lower focusing noise level than when used with an adapter.

The Art series lenses are known for their exceptional image quality and reliable operation. The lens is excellent for all kinds of general photography, both people and portraits. The f/1.4 aperture makes depth of field control possible and the lens is very sharp even at full aperture. The HSM focus motor provides fast and almost silent focusing in every situation.
