The compact size and weight of Samyang AF lenses make them great travel companions for photographers on the go. Thanks to their small size, the lens also has a common filter thread size of 58mm. With a focal length of 18mm, the lens is great for nature photography when you want to capture the full extent of a landscape or emphasize proportions by getting boldly close to your subject. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of just 25cm.

The light 145g weight makes it easy to use the stabilizer and the wide focal length also works great for video use and vlogging. With APS-C sensor bodies such as the Sony A6500, the equivalent focal length of the lens is 28mm. This crop mode is also available for video on full-frame cameras without loss of quality, so the lens is very usable in both settings.

The Samyang AF 18mm includes a quiet STM focus motor and the lens is compatible with Sony autofocus, meaning features such as EyeAF will work normally.
