Like OM System's acclaimed Pro series lenses, this 8-25mm novelty combines effective weather protection and mechanical durability with a compact size.

The focal length of this lens is a rare and very versatile 8-25mm. The cine equivalent is 16-50mm, which means it combines a very wide angle with a normal focal length that is always suitable for portrait photography.

Professional class structure

Weather protection is not just a promise, Olympus promises that the weather protection meets the IPX1 standard. The same protection also works against dust and frost. The front lens of the lens is coated with fluorine, which makes cleaning easier.

For the first time, Olympus is using a foldable design in a Pro series lens, meaning it is very compact in transport position. It is unlocked by simply turning it.

Manual focus is selected by pulling the focus ring back, which acts as one large switch. On Olympus bodies, this also activates the Focus Peaking focus assist tool.

The Olympus 8-25mm is suitable for video shooting not only in terms of focal length but also in terms of image quality. Focus breathing, i.e. the change in the focal length of the image when focusing, is minimized very effectively. This means you can use the next autofocus or move and the image size will not change disturbingly. In addition, the lens's light weight of 411g is great for use with a gimbal stabilizer.
