A carbon fiber version of the Manfrotto Befree Advanced Alpha tripod with greater load capacity, greater stability and height.

Who this tripod is for: The Befree GT Alpha is designed specifically for Sony A-series camera owners who need a compact and sturdy tripod. The Befree GT folds down to a compact 43cm transport length, but when opened extends to a comfortable maximum height of 162cm.

Manfrotto Befree GT camera tripod designed specifically for Sony A-series cameras. The 200PL-PROSONY quick-release plate included with the tripod package is shaped to fit Sony A-series bodies, allowing the camera to stay firmly in place without wobbling or twisting. The Manfrotto RC2 and Arca-Swiss compatible plate is compatible with, among others, a7 II, a7 III, a7R II, a7R III, a7S II and a9 bodies.

Feet

The Befree GT Sony Edition tripod's legs consist of four parts and three twist locks, which Manfrotto calls M-Lock. The locks have a rubber surface that allows for better grip in cold weather and when your hands are wet.

The legs fold into three different angles (22°, 54°, 89°), which allows the tripod to be used even on the most uneven terrain. The tripod angle lock is a spring-loaded slide lock on the side of the leg, which is pulled down to unlock and allow the angle of the leg to be adjusted. Thanks to the folding mechanism, the legs fold perfectly around the head and quick-release plate, allowing the tripod to fold into a small transport space (43cm).

With the legs fully extended and the center tube raised, the tripod stands 164cm tall. The lower tubes of the Befree GT tripod are thicker than the Befree Advanced tripod (14.7 vs 12mm), making the tripod more stable when fully extended.

Easy Link accessory connection

The tripod's central bridge has an Easy Link accessory connection with a 3/8-inch thread. With the help of an additional arm (e.g. Manfrotto 244 Micro or Manfrotto 234 Flex Arm) that can be purchased separately, you can connect an LED light or a shooting monitor, etc. to the tripod to make filming easier.

Ball head

The tripod package comes with the Manfrotto MH496-BH ball head, which replaces the popular Manfrotto 496RC2 / 498RC2 ball heads. One of the nice features of this ball head, which is not usually found in heads in this price range, is the fine adjustment / friction lock. The fine adjustment lock is located in the middle of the ball head locking lever, where it is easily accessible. The panning function of the ball head makes it easier to shoot landscapes.

The ball head has a Manfrotto 200PL-PRO quick release plate designed for Sony cameras, which is both RC2 and Acra-swiss compatible. You can also use the 200PL and 200PL-PRO quick release plates.
