Note: with this adapter you attach a smaller filter to a larger filter thread! This can cause vignetting between the filter and the ring. A more common method is to use a Step Up ring to attach a larger filter to a smaller lens thread.
The Hama Step-Down thread conversion ring (stepping ring, adapter ring, thread adapter, thread adapter) allows you to change the filter thread of your lens to a smaller one. This procedure is necessary especially when you want to attach a filter or teleconverter to threads with a larger diameter. The first number in the product name is the male thread, i.e. the size of the lens thread, and the second number is the smaller female thread, i.e. the size of the filter to be used. In other words, if, for example, your camera lens has 67mm threads and you want to attach a 62mm filter to it, you need a 67-62 Step Down adapter. The parts cannot be attached with a 62-67 Step Up adapter.
