Greenscreen technology, or color keying, allows you to combine the subject being photographed with a background of your choice. This technique is used, for example, in weather reports, where a meteorologist appears in front of a green background and the background is replaced with a weather map.

Chroma Key backgrounds are usually green or blue, as these colors are the furthest from human skin tones. Lighting is important in Chroma Key, as there should be no shadows in the background, meaning the background should be as flat as possible.
